altTurebyholm castle

The castle is in rococo style and from 1754. It was originally used for hunting and as summer residence. The whole castle was thoroughly restored in 1999 and has received the Europe Nostra award which purposes it to promote cultural heritage. ”Concerning the furnishing it was quite vital for us to let the rooms in the castle speak for themselves. There is so much decoration – on the woodwork, the profiled squares on the walls, the fine door pictures, silk hangings and suspended wall paintings in the cabinets as well as walls painted in delicate grey, yellow, green and purple pastel shades” they explain.

altBjorn Stiler – Munkerup

The couple bought the hose 20 years ago. The house needed a lot of work because and Bjorn started removing all the floor covering and painted the walls using his mom´s old recipe for painting: mixing wall paint with wood chips which gives a rustic look. They have rebuilt the house a little at a time over the years and they have done most of the work them selves. They made the garden smaller by planting trees and bushes along the fence around the garden to create their own little private heaven.

altOle Astrup Madsen

The couple bought the manor house 2 years ago.  It was unoccupied of 5 years when they took over so it needed a good deal of renovation before it became the elegant home it is today. Nina managed the craftsmen and liked deciding the final details for the house. They used to live in a small Fishermans cottage with very modern furniture this was a very different way of thinking. It all ended up in a very personal style where antique Chinese furniture is mixed with soft and romance style.

altFrench feelings

Pia finds her inspiration for furnishing in France and Sweden, on the internet and by reading many home magazines and books. Furthermore, she loves to visit flea markets and antique shops. The American Long Island style also inspires the creative woman and most of the furniture and things in the home were found on flea markets.

altBjorn Stiler – Copenhagen

To move from an apartment at 160 m2 to a place of half the size can be difficult but Bjørn and Kim Stiler saw it as a possibility for a new beginning. They both love antiques and their passion started to take up a lot of space in their previous home. Therefore they sold everything they owned and redecorated their home in a style inspired by Swedish gustavian style. They often travel to markets in France and buy the things for their shop K&Co in Copenhagen. Many antique French things decorate the living room and the kitchen looks like a provincial country kitchen. The style is light and is inspired by the south of France and all furniture and in light and grey shades.
