The house is built of clay and straw and it is an annex and used by their guests. The couple built the house by themselves.
A compromise in Copenhagen
Charlotte and Tommy agreed on that they wanted to move into a new building when they moved in together and did not want to do any renovation at all. They prefer clean lines and they have paid a lot of attention to choosing furniture that can match the size of the large rooms.
A house with growing pains
After having owned the house for a couple of years the owners wanted to add more space to the house. The original old house is a brick house with tiled roof. As often is the connecting building between the old and the new that is causing the architect greatest problems. But here Rikke Oeberg choose to make a transparent corridor for furniture with flat roof and large glass facades, so you can now look through the house from south to north.
The family has chosen to keep the original floor plan, the brown tiles in the kitchen and the hall, many of the floors but otherwise they had to change a lot in the house when they moved in. A lot of the colors and materials are repeated in several rooms in the house to make it all come together. They want the furniture to match the house.
