Warm hibernating between snowy meadows
Between the snowy meadows, where serenity dominates during a winter visit, lies the home of Derk and Ingeborg who run a Bed & Breakfast. A flock of grazing roes, small sounds softened by the snow and just the right mix of interior styles makes this place a really special one.
Renovated villa in Charlottenlund
After having lived abroad the family were looking for at large family villa. They choose this striking property from early 1900-century, but they had to do a big rebuilding throughout the house to reach this result. The entrance, kitchen and bathroom were among others moved. The room that is now the kitchen was five small rooms in the past. All the delicate colors of the house have been carefully chosen from Farrow & Ball's delicious palette. The kitchen is from the Swedish Kvanum. The house also got a new roof, it was painted and all outdoor areas and terraces are newly built. The finished result exudes tranquility and harmony.
Nordic hideaway
Birgitte and Henrik wanted a look in harmony with nature but different from the traditional summer cottage look. When the home interior decorator suggested shades of grey they were defensive. But now they think it was the right choice. "We have emphasized not to have heirlooms and very fragile thing out here, but still decorate with personality," says Birgitte.
Haute couture in the hallway - home office
As a self-employed interior designer Anja uses her home office for many hours. So it was important for Anja to find a room in the house where she thrives. She loves the light flowing in through the large windows in the hallway, and when the hall was not used in daily life, she decided to create her office here.
Art collectors in Copenhagen
The house was originally built for wealthy families who had servants and therefore the kitchen is in the basement, a reception room and dining room on the ground floor and living rooms on the first floor and nursery and walk in closets on the second floor. At the top floor they have built a large master bedroom with a bathroom in the rooms that used to be for the servants. The couple collects Danish and international contemporary art in the fields of photo art, paintings and sculptures.
