Henrik & Sus
'The original house was only 2 floors and the entire ground floor consisted of a lot of small rooms” says Sus. But they could both see potential in the house and the location unique. They added an extra floor and removed all walls on the ground floor and made one big family kitchen. The couple has decorated the home personal with a mix of heirlooms, second-hand dealer findings, designer lamps and flea market bargains. 'None of us are good at throwing out so things can stay as long as they can' tells Sus.
From boring house to a personal home
This small family have decorated the house with painted floors and lots of colour.
Charlotte Skak
The couple liked the scenery and atmosphere of living in a summer house all year long. The house was in very bad condition when they moved in and it had to be fully renovated where they 1st floor was made bigger and the terraces were added. They love the old style and have made e great effort in keeping the old details and then built a modern kitchen and bathroom. The decor is a nice mix of new design, beautiful heirlooms and flea market findings. Charlotte is very interested in art and has through the years spotted many upcoming artists.
A different flat
In connection with the renovation the flat was altered to suit the family’s needs. There were walls torn down and a chimney also had to be closed. A window is removed and a fine terrace door has been put in. In this way there now is access to a large terrace and a renovated yard with room for playing possibilities for the children in the block of flats. The kitchen is quite new and fancy, found at Ikea. The room has been opened up and the furnishing is well-arranged, bright and kind. The children, Gustav at 5 years and Vigga at 1 year have the corner room as their domain.
