A morning in May
Marie and her husband Jacob bought their house five years ago and have been renovating it mostly themselves. The result is a modern and authentic home for their little family. The location is close to everything, the woods, the fields and the sea; and the family enjoys the easy access to the beautiful nature and fresh air.
The home decor is kept simple and clean, inspiration often comes from one single piece. Marie believes beautiful things need calm surroundings. She values having less but exquisite items.
Country de luxe
The simple decor with a tight color choice and well-chosen feminine details make room for the life that unfolds in the room of the house, and not least in the heart of the house. "We are very pleased with the house, it works as we want it and is really nice to live in. I like our dining room the most; it is located in the middle of the house and used for anything. The room is bright and welcoming and very simply decorated, and I go through it many times over the course of a day," says Lene.
Renovated villa in Charlottenlund
After having lived abroad the family were looking for at large family villa. They choose this striking property from early 1900-century, but they had to do a big rebuilding throughout the house to reach this result. The entrance, kitchen and bathroom were among others moved. The room that is now the kitchen was five small rooms in the past. All the delicate colors of the house have been carefully chosen from Farrow & Ball's delicious palette. The kitchen is from the Swedish Kvanum. The house also got a new roof, it was painted and all outdoor areas and terraces are newly built. The finished result exudes tranquility and harmony.
Nordic hideaway
Birgitte and Henrik wanted a look in harmony with nature but different from the traditional summer cottage look. When the home interior decorator suggested shades of grey they were defensive. But now they think it was the right choice. "We have emphasized not to have heirlooms and very fragile thing out here, but still decorate with personality," says Birgitte.
